Front chassis member LA/LB in position
before suspension brackets are welded on.
FU1 & FU2 were removed after this photo and
repositioned when brackets were lined up on a jig ready to fit.
Bulkhead is welded steel for foot protection!
the tunnel was origionally fabricated to take Fiat
Twin Cam running gear and was made wider to accomodate it.
Rear suspension arm mount brackets are fully welded
for added strength drilled to take 1/2"UNF bolts.
Rear chassis corner curved to match top rail curve.
Rear frame with provision for spare wheel to be
mounted made from 3mm steel.
Roll bar has been welded onto chassis for stiffness
and strengh. This was Arc welded instead of Mig to get best penetration
of weld.
Chassis almost complete showing roll bar without
backstays.

I am using a Ford Sierra steering column in my
Locost and found this bracket at Stuart Taylor Motorsport, It will allow
me to drill extra holes so thew column can be adjusted up and down.
Suspension Bushes are from Stuart Taylor, the
are Poly with a steel core.
